I'm April, a woman with a wonderful husband and beautiful child. They're the two loves of my life - as well as myself :) I'm a public servant and body confidence activist! I love sunny afternoons spent with good friends, good food and good wine - as the wife of a film producer I also enjoy a trip to the cinema. Don't try to share my popcorn - I like to dip my choc top in it.
Q2) Tell us about what you do, and why you do it
Body confidence encompasses so much - I am an advocate for body positivity but also for self love and confidence. I want our future generations to accept each other, and for people living in today's society to feel more than OK about themselves. I am willing to be an example of why women, especially fat women, should embrace the bodies they live in and use them to do amazing things! I use The Bodzilla to teach, learn and grow with my communities on Facebook and Instagram.
Q3) What makes you feel courageous?
Aside from champagne? ;) I feel courageous when I see women I admire sharing views I align with. I feel courageous when I am asked what I think about things, and am actually listened to! I feel courageous when I see my advice being taken.
Q4) What is one thing you wish you could tell your 16-year-old self?
That she would absolutely not be happier if she lost weight - mean people would just be nicer. The kind ones are always kind - stick with them.
Q5) What is one piece of advice you can give a fellow lady who might be lacking courage?
Believe that you are worthy of your own time. Use that time to look at yourself with love, to perceive yourself as loveable, to realise your value isn't defined by anything another person can measure. You are worthy, you are valuable, you are important.
