Q1) Tell us a little about yourself!
My name is Chelsea Villines and I am a DEAF mama of 4 boys! Yes you read that right....4 boys! :) I lost my hearing at the age of 18 months. My family helped me become who I am today by not giving up on me and pushing me to do my best. I've had many accomplishments from Oklahoma Female Athlete of the Year to Dental Hygienist young Alumnus of the Year and even bring home a Gold Medal playing basketball in the Deaflympics. Let's just say I can be a tad competitive :)
Q2) Tell us about what you do, and why you do it
I save lives one mouth at a time as a dental hygienist. I love the relationships I have with my co workers and patients. Every day I work, I always enjoy knowing that I helped make someone's day that day whether it's thru conversations or their mouth. The rest of the time I'm a stay at home mama raising my dinosaurs PLUS helping people feel confident again by changing their hair and skin care products to an anti-aging one. I seriously just love helping others!
Q3) What makes you feel courageous?
When I've had a good shower! :) haha Just kidding! This made me think deeply. When I've stepped out of my comfort zone and do something I thought I would've never done. For example, I was a very very shy girl and would always depend on others to help me with anything in life. Especially when going to a restaurant and ordering off the menu. I would always make whoever I was with order for me. One day, my sister told me to tell the waitress what I wanted to order off the menu. let's say that I became a VERY brave girl that day and am so super thankful for my amazing sister that has helped me become more courageous.
Q4) What is one thing you wish you could tell your 16-year-old self?
Don't let anything hold you back. Be confident in everything even when things aren't going your way.
Q5) What is one piece of advice you can give a fellow lady who might be lacking courage?
Change your attitude to an attitude of gratitude. Seriously. if you're grateful about the little things in life it'll help you realize you can be a wonderful, courageous woman!
