Q1) Tell us a little about yourself!

I am an actress, presenter and writer. I am an advocate for self-worth… particularly for women who have experienced the shattering effects of domestic violence. I am a mother of 4 fabulous kids, 3 super cute pooches, and wife to a wonderful, loving, supportive husband. I am a woman of faith, a lover of glitter and a girl who believes that the colour pink can be worn all the time - anytime! I am an eternal optimist, who chooses to look on the sparkly side of life and is on a mission to sprinkle sparkle into the world in any way I can.

Q2) Tell us about what you do, and why you do it

The art of storytelling through acting, writing and presenting is something that sets my soul on fire and gives me glittery goosebumps. With acting, there’s something truly magical about being able to create a character and step into their life for a moment in time. I believe it takes empathy and understanding of humanity. I am intrigued by emotions, different characters and their characteristics, and love looking into the reasons why people make the choices that they do, and respond the way they do. Film, television & theatre all have the power to transport us to another place, and to help us heal. The performing arts can inspire & empower people. It’s a truly beautiful art-form.

I have recently gone back to my love of writing. I have written a pilot for a TV series that focuses on the lives of 4 friends in their 40’s, all battling their inner demons and facing different adversities. How they rise above each challenge, and how friendship and faith have the power to heal. I currently have two children’s picture books in the making, and have also written a short film about self-worth… losing it, and finding it again. It is my personal mission to inspire as many girls and women as I can to have a strong sense of self-worth & self-love… and to always believe in yourself.

Q3) What makes you feel courageous?

My family gives me courage. My husband inspires me to follow my dreams, and his drive and determination in life are truly inspiring to me. Our children are a big reason for me to be a courageous woman. I want to be a strong role model for them to show them that courage, kindness and confidence are key to being the best version of yourself, and to make the world a better place. I take courage from hearing the stories of others who have overcome adversity, and from women who are conquering their goals and bringing their dreams to fruition. And of course… glitter always gives me courage! There’s nothing quite Iike adding a little extra sparkle to your day!

Q4) What is one thing you wish you could tell your 16-year-old self?

I would tell my 16 year old self that she is loved, she is worthy and that she shines. I would teach her about how beautifully valuable she is, and how to love, and believe in herself. I believe that self-worth issues can start at a very young age. There are so many things that young girls face the can shake their self-worth. Bullying in the school yard, feelings of not being good enough, comparing yourself to others… and so much more. I pray for my kids every night, and speak to them on a daily basis about how their uniqueness is their strength. To be kind, courageous, confident and compassionate… which starts with being kind, courageous, confident and compassionate with YOUrself. Here is a poem I wrote about self-worth that will soon become a short film…

She Shines

Her beauty in abundance, with a radiant glow

From deep in her soul, to the outside it shows

Soft flowing hair, and porcelain skin

The depth of her beauty comes from within.

Her spirit it shines, as she walks in the room

Her breathtaking beauty, like a sweet perfume

Her heart full of love, from heaven above,

But shes been broken down. Inside sorrow... her heart frowns.

She knows not of her beauty, that everyone sees

When she looks in the mirror, she doesnt believe

How worthy she is of the beautiful love

She deserves to receive, but feels unworthy of.

They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder

If only she saw nownot wait till shes older

For her beauty is true, everlasting and fine

Just one look through Gods eyes, and shell see how she shines.

Q5) What is one piece of advice you can give a fellow lady who might be lacking courage?

Believe in YOUrself and be passionate in the pursuit of your dreams! Choose FAITH over fear! If you look at fear in the following way, it will help you to see that we ALL have the power to overcome our fears with a positive mindset, and by being a courageous woman!

Fear is:

Fear is what you make it. Fear is only real if you give it life. For example…I might be afraid of heights (I was… but recently overcame my fear by going 40 stories in the air on the Melbourne star), but you might love heights! You may have a fear of spiders, but I might love the 8 legged critters. The lesson is that fear is a personal perception. We can choose to feed fear and make something of it, or we can choose FAITH and over come fear!
