Q1) Tell us a little about yourself!
I’m a 34 year old Mama from Newcastle. I live with my husband Adam who is in corporate finance (don’t ask me for more details 🤷🏼♀️😂) and my two girls. Emmison is 4 and Hadley is 22 months going on 5 🤪. Our 6 year old dog is also the light of our lives! We absolutely love living in Newcastle by the beach.
Q2) Tell us about what you do, and why you do it
I am a birth and postnatal doula. I am so incredibly passionate about supporting women and their birth partner during the scared birthing journey. Having a support team, being informed and feeling empowered can make all the difference.
Q3) What makes you feel courageous?
The thing that makes me feel courageous is just how lucky I am. I feel humbled every day by having a healthy and happy family. Helping others and being surrounded by positive people gives me the energy and motivation to feel courageous in the face of any struggles. Being grounded by other people’s stories and knowing that I can get through the small challenges I face in my own life.
Q4) What is one thing you wish you could tell your 16-year-old self?
Oh gosh so many things!! Love hard but also know my worth. Travel the world but also save more money. That the little things really don’t matter and that your parents only want what’s best for you.
Q5) What is one piece of advice you can give a fellow lady who might be lacking courage?
Talk to someone. Share your fears and your worries. It’s important to have them validated. Positive people build you up and can help you find the courage you need.
