Q1) Tell us a little about yourself!
Goodness, where do I begin? Firstly, I am Kasey - a lover of colour and all things creative. I am an author, illustrator, designer and digital artist and absolutely love my job. Secondly, I am a mum to a beautiful little girl who made me the person I am today.
Q2) Tell us about what you do, and why you do it!
I am passionate about helping others find the light in times of darkness, whether this applies to their mental health or their wardrobe! I have self-published two books, both raising awareness for mental health in children and adults. I am also a textile designer, who loves creating big, bold and bright patterns for those who love to live bright. I also use my illustrative skills to create personality portraits - a unique way for someone to capture their identity!
Q3) What makes you feel courageous?
My daughter. She is what got me to where I am today and she is the reason I got the courage to seek help and ultimately put me on the path to discover who I truly was as a person. Knowing that she is watching my every move makes me determined to teach her all about kindness and courage.
Q4) What is one thing you wish you could tell your 16-year-old self?
I would tell her 'One day, you will be happy. But first, the universe needs to make you strong'. You will get through this, and you WILL be okay.
Q5) What is one piece of advice you can give a fellow lady who might be lacking courage?
Find your light. Find what it is that brings you joy, laughter and light and embrace it. By doing this, you will gain more confidence and courage than you can ever imagine. And when in doubt, speak up. There is no weakness in needing help, but there IS great strength in asking for it.
