Louise of Just a Wheel Chair Girl
Q1) Tell us a little about yourself!
I’m a 35 year old danish woman with muscular dystrophy, SMA2. Despite being dependent on help from my assistants I’m living the best life possible.
Q2) Tell us about what you do, and why you do it
One of the reasons why I started the profile @justawheelchairgirl is that I needed a disabled role model when I was growing up. Someone who could show me that all the dreams I had as a child and teenager could turn into reality.
It’s important for me to live my life without letting my disability be an obstacle. Hopefully people, both disabled and able bodied, will follow my profile and see that despite my disability I’m not that different and my life is pretty good.
Q3) What makes you feel courageous?
For me feeling courageous is about doing things out of my comfort zone - pushing myself to grow and evolve on a personal level.
Q4) What is one thing you wish you could tell your 16-year-old self?
Everything will be alright and everything will happen in the right time. Don’t compare yourself to others because you’re one of a kind. Be patient, be brave and never stop fighting for what you want.
Q5) What is one piece of advice you can give a fellow lady who might be lacking courage?
Believe in yourself and trust that you have something unique to offer this world.
