Marayna of Kenzie Collective!
Q1) Tell us a little about yourself!
Oh heya! 👋 My name is Marayna and I am the wearer of many colourful hats 👒 I am a wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, cleaner, chef, taxi driver, umpire, nurse, .....oh, and I am the head boss lady over at your 'Ultimate Accessory Destination' - Kenzie Collective.
Q2) Tell us about what you do, and why you do it!
6 years ago, I went on maternity leave from my profession as a teacher. My lil muse, Mackenzie was welcomed into the world and our lives changed forever! That is when Kenzie Collective was born and when my true passion became a reality💜 We bring rainbows of colour, uniqueness and magic into your world, in the form of accessories. Our style is one-of-a-kind and we embrace our inner quirks and showcase our personality through pieces of acrylic. We absolutely LOVE that we can turn someones day around by simply popping on a pair of 'wearable art' that will have strangers striking up conversations with you in no time! Not only do we make our own accessories but.....we also cheer, support and encourage other amazing makers, also. We are stockists to 50+ Australian labels and are known as your 'Ultimate Accessory Destination'. We simply 'do what we do' as:
1) we love colour
2) we love being unique
3) we want show the world that being YOU is the most empowering thing you can do!
Q3) What makes you feel courageous?
Knowing that I am one of the most influential people in my kidlets lives! I am the person that they look up to and watch from day to day. Every little thing I do is being watched by 2 little pair of eyes and THAT gives me the courage, drive and motivation to tackle the obstacles in front of me.
Q4) What is one thing you wish you could tell your 16-year-old self?
Oh gosh, EASY!!!! Don't be a sheep! You don't have to do something or try and be someone else just because the 'cool gang' at school said you have to. And, just because you wore the wrong basketball hat or owned the wrong brand of shoe, should not mean that you 'can't sit' with your 'friends' (I use that term VERY loosely!). Stand up for yourself, Marayna! Tell the bullies that they don't own you and that you can do WHATEVER THE HELL YOU WANT! #micdrop
Q5) What is one piece of advice you can give a fellow lady who might be lacking courage?
Pop on that outfit (oh, and matching accessories!) that you absolutely LOVE!!!! Find a sparkly pen and the most flamboyant notepad you can find. Go to a cafe and sit by yourself. Order your beverage of choice. Write down 3 things about yourself that you love. Look at that list and write a sentence on why this is true. Finding things about yourself that you truly love takes courage as we can be our toughest critic! But, by doing this on a regular basis and documenting your journey, it becomes easier.
