Q1)Tell us a little about yourself!
My name is Marna Michele, I'm 28 years old and I'm a singer songwriter that lives in Orange Country California. I was diagnosed with arthrogryposis the day I was born.
Q2) Tell us about what you do, and why you do it!
I am a singer songwriter, I have released an album and multiple singles, I am just trying to get my name out there. I create music that I love because it’s my passion and I believe it’s what I am meant to do. I also want a platform for advocacy for my community. The music industry is lacking in that category.
Q3) What makes you feel courageous?
Being on stage makes me feel my most courageous. Opening my mouth and belting a song that I wrote or moving an audience with the words that I’ve written makes me feel alive and like I’m doing something for this world.
Q4) What is one thing you wish you could tell your 16-year-old self?
I wish I could tell my 16-year-old self that she was not ready for success. I’ve worked so hard to make it in the music industry since I was about 12 years old, and I remember being so let down that I never got the yes I was looking for, to make it through that door. But now at the age of 28 I realize I’m ready, I’m willing, and I’m going to make it happen.
Q5) What is one piece of advice you can give a fellow lady who might be lacking courage?
Even when you get put down, or left out just know that you are important, and you matter. Stay true to who you are, don’t let people change you. Everything is an opinion, and yours matters the most.
