Q1) Tell us a little about yourself!
Hi everyone, I’m Renee I’m 34 years old and from Victoria. I have a gorgeous 2 year old daughter and am currently 30 weeks pregnant with our second miracle baby. I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer in April of this year whilst 12 weeks pregnant. I’ve had a lumpectomy and lymph node removal and almost completed all my chemotherapy treatment. I just have radiation and a year of oral chemo to go once baby is here.
Q2) Tell us about what you do, and why you do it
I’m a early childhood education and care trainer and assessor. I absolutely love what I do. Children are a huge part of my life and teaching people to become the best educators they can be is so rewarding.
Q3) What makes you feel courageous?
I’ve been through a lot in my life and I feel every hurdle is just another bump in my journey. Being positive and facing each day with a smile makes me feel super courageous. Plus, I am a woman we are the toughest creatures on earth are we not?
Q4) What is one thing you wish you could tell your 16-year-old self?
Go and get that lump checked you’re never too young to have breast cancer. I also wish I had of told myself to buy a house early lol prices are crazy now haha.
Q5) What is one piece of advice you can give a fellow lady who might be lacking courage?
There is always someone worse off. Wake up each day and be happy to be alive. You don’t realise how strong you really are until you are faced with challenges. Life isn’t meant to be easy so hold your head up high and SMILE
